I don't know if this applies to all newer bikes but my Blackline has a tube, that goes under the gas tank center divider plastic cover. The tube is about 3/8" diameter. It connects to a smaller tube, about 1/4", just in front of the gas tank by a small connector. They're just pushed together with no clamps.
There's nothing in it, like gas or oil because it came apart. And it didn't effect the way it ran. I did notice my gas gauge is "off". When I filled up, it use to go as high as 220. Now it tops at 190. Other than that, I can't imagine what it's for.
What does this tube go to, in both directions? Other than taking off the center "console" cover, I thought I could get an answer here. I'd Google it but I don't know what words to use for a search.
That is the fuel tank vent line. It goes from a nipple on the plate under the console, down to the fuel vapor canister near the rear shock under the bike. When that line is disconnected, it creates the possibility of a vacuum leak at the throttle body. Either reconnect it, or leave it open, and plug the nipple on the throttle body.
It's not really the mileage, it's when I fill it up. It doesn't register as much as before on the gauge. I used to fill it up an inch below the fill hole and it'd show 210-220. Now, I can fill it to where it's touching the fill hole and it only shows 190.
