Not sure I like the Joe's Bag..it needs to be mounted in front of the forks to face the speakers towards the rider......I think I like the mhinsturments.com amplified speakers.....might give those a try if she likes how they look.
Well, post up on whatever you decide on! I don't own a Joe's bag. I only base my choice on how low or crappy the bar mounted speakers all sound at freeway speeds. I will say, any music is better than not having it IMHO!
If you like to be a little creative you can put together something on your own that sounds not too bad. Here is a link to the my latest sterio setup https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...my-deluxe.html I have a new volume control that I want to tie into the handle bar controles I got off a 98 Ultra. I hope to get that done this winter yet. A side note,,,on the highway we can hear the music better with ear plugs in than with them out.

Very nice job on the amp mounting.....not sure how far I will take this for the wife's bike....she only wants 2 speakers also. I am still considering trying the amplified speakers found here.
Does your wife wear a helmet? If so or she is willing to wear one. I use a 3/4 helmet with the face shield. It has pockets for speakers for intercom. I got a cheap pair of over the ear headphones, and removed the speakers off of them and installed them in the ear pockets, securing the wiring inside the helmet at the rear. I use a ipod shuffle (cheapest one) that is attached to the outside of the helmet with velcro. Since the shuffle uses push button controls, you can adjust volume, pause and skip tracks with a gloved finger. Charge lasts about 12-15 hrs. I used this set up in a open face 3/4 but works best with a shield for highway speeds. It works pretty well, Both me and my wife use this set up for now. I've been wrestling with either handle bar speakers or installing a fairing. The easy answer may just be sucking it up eventually and buying a bagger with a fairing. But that won't/can't happen until after I retire from the military. Plus I really like my Heritage.
If you are interested I can take and post pics.
Here is what I have looked at for handle bar speakers. I will say this, when it comes to them from my experience, bigger is better. That's probably a, well duh, statement. I had cycles sounds with the 2" or 3" speakers and they sucked. Amp failed after about a year. My helmet set up sounds way better than that system did. I do like the rock box thing, but for whoever mentioned that, I don't think it comes with speakers, its just the module for $250. They may have a kit that includes speakers.
