******I PUT THIS IN FRONT END AND SUSPENSION FORUM WITH NO RESPONSE.. SOMEONE PLEAST HELP.

OK, I am looking to buy a lightningstar custom wheel for the front of my bike. In the book they show 2 @ 21", one says 43806-00 for XL and FXD type bikes and 43737-00 for FXST, FXSTD and softail models. My question is, what is the difference? Do they have differnet size axle bearings? The reason I ask is because a friend of mine is selling his that says for the XL and FXD stuff and I want to buy it but am not sure if it will fit on my softail. Can someone please help. If this is same why different number, If won't work, please tell me why or can I make this work with a few simple mods? Thanks in advnace.

Someone please help...... What my harley mechanic friend told me is it will work but I will just have to get a spacer for the disc so it will line up with the caliper. Other than that the bearings and all should be the same. Can anyone 2nd that?

That is correct. I didn't see the measurement in the service manual so I looked on the J&P catalog (see note at the bottom of the page) http://www.jpcycles.com/catalog/2007HarleyCatalog/0762.html

the axle size is 3/4". The differences you will run into are the hub width. Look here:
