Default Slim Seat/Handlebar Options?

Okay, I guess at age 45 it's time I accept that I'm short. 5'2" to be exact. And as much as I love my '14 Slim, I need a little help in this department. I'd really like to get myself in more of an upright position for the long rides and also to help with those slow, tight turns we all occasionally have to make. Right now I'm leaning so far forward and stretching out so wide to get that bike around a u-turn that it's awkward, uncomfortable, and dangerous.

I've got the risers on the stock bar already, but I don't feel like they helped much. I also just got a Mustang wide tripper diamond stitch solo which HAS pushed me a bit further forward, but it sits right on top of the paint on my rear fender and I know it's just a matter of time before there'll be a couple of holes dug into it.

So my questions for you other shorties out there are:

1. What have you done to get yourself in a more comfy position?
2. If you have the same Mustang seat, does it touch your fender? What did you do about that?
3. Any suggestions for other seats that might push me a bit further up?
4. Any suggestions for bars that might give me a little more pull-back?
5. Is this just something that, with time, I'll learn to live with and adapt to?

I'm one of those who believes a bike should fit you if you want to be happy with it for years to come, so I'm prepared to make a few adjustments rather than try to just get used to it.

Thanks in advance!

I already sold mine, but I recommend the HD spring solo seat. It will definitely get you higher, and more forward. And it will be more comfortable than the stocker. Those springs really work.

I'd go to Ebay and try to hunt down a deal. Or at least Surdyke. The retail price for seat and hardware is ridiculous.
