Kuryakyn makea nice, moderate size tank bag that attaches magnetically, with a provided special soft cloth between the fuel tank and the tank bag (The magnets function through the cloth layer just fine).

I have been using one on my previous bike for about a year. If you keep the special cloth reasonably clean (don't put it down on dirty pavement), you won't scratch the tank.

It holds to the tank well enough that it never slides or falls off, even at high speeds.

It has a map compartment on top with a clear window in it. It subdivides into 2 layers internally, either one acceessible directly by unzipping its zipper. It also has another zipper that expands the bottom compartment vertically for when you need a little more dpeth inside. It allows undisturbed eaccess to the gas cap. It is small enough to be inconspicuous but large enough to be useful, and being mounted on the tank versus down low like a swingarm bag, it stays clean and dry. Also comes with a waterproof cover.

It's one of the greater inventions ever.

That front bag covers the voltage regulator. Are you sure that voltage regulator doesn't need cooling air? Also, isn't that mounting of the bag going to interfere with engine cooling airflow?

I've got the same dilemma. I don't want to put any bag on the bike. I just use a single strap bag I carry that work gave me if I'm needing storage. Problem I have if I ride two up on a trip some where with the misses then I'm screwed as the misses has massive F size bolt ons so she can't even use a back pack....but you know what, I don't give a **** in those times because ***** make everything just fine

F cups make the perfect rider's backrest, don't they? On my breakout they forced me to eat the riser clamp.

She's almost as tall as me so they are more of a comfortable neck brace

Too Old for Bags? Im 27 and I love the saddlebags! The official Harley Detatchable saddlebags for the breakout look really good on the bike in my Opinion. They literally come off in 10 Seconds and your rolling normal. The only problem is there really Expensive$$. I get the look your going for but when your riding with your buddy's and they need a place to stash there jacket or other misc BS you are the Man! Just my 2cents

It sits in front of it, yes, but doesn't cover it entirely. There's still space for air to pass through between the fins, and I've checked it after riding, doesn't get hot at all.

As far as the engine goes, I don't believe it causes any airflow issue there either. It doesn't seem any worse than some of those chin spoilers in my opinion.
