Hey all, Im new to this Harley thing and am having a great time with my New 05 Heritage Solftail, Man I love this thing, don't know why I waited so long.
The issue I have being the newbie is I have noticed that when cruising on the highway at say 60mph, the vibration on my throttle just about puts my hand to sleep.
Is this normal?? my grip has a little play in it say 1/16-1/8-inch. Its secure, as meaming you cant pull it of the bars our anything like that.
Is there any type of adjustment that can be made, or is it just the the Harley thing I need to get used too?
Just kiddin'. Some vibration is normal. You can wear cushioned gloves or change the grips. The most common change is to Kuryakyn Iso Grips. They are easy to install and will absorb most of the vibration.
I agree with Oldgeezer. The ISO grips are great. I put them on mine and have been much happier. Make sure and get the little palm pad that is available with the throttle.
Another thing that helps is when your hand's asleep, hold the throttle with just your thumb and index fingers and strech the rest of your fingers back and forth and so on...
