Ha yeah no kidding? Hell even with a gauge I trust my mileage anyway. Same goes for my truck.
08train
Not sure on that one as if I remember right my 07 Standard might not have that option but I bought the bike late fall and never rode it much before the snow hit us and I started the mods.
The thing that throws me off is the caps I find say non vented reverse thread for left side but the fuel gauge just pulls out right ? Its not threaded in like say one on a old tank that had only two caps no gauge.
soft 02 told me that if you unplug the stock fuel gauge, the gauge on my speedo/tach wouldn't work. Which is fine by me, I don't mind using the mileage to figure out when to fill up.
I do know the fuel gauge side just pops up because I popped mine out to see what was under there. lol
Do you have a link to where you are looking to buy them? I desperately want to get rid of my stock fuel gauge and gas cap.
Ironclassic ... what parts did you use to do yours?
I found them in the JP catalog but they want $50 per cap so looking on eBay found a set for right around $22 shipped from China and they look the same as the JP ones hell they probably are the same ones.

Hey man! Can you post the ebay link? I would assume they are on JP's website but I dont see em. Im all over them if I can find them.
If you disconnect the fuel gauge will the "miles to empty" data on the console still work?
I'd like an answer on this question also if somebody knows. I usually use the miles to empty also and when I was thinking about going to the RSD gauge and cap set they couldn't tell me. The gauge side only has a low fuel light now a complete gauge so that's the main reason I was wondering.
