Default What size apes??

I posted this under general discussion but thought I would do better with it here. I want to swap out the stock handle bars on my 2007 Fat Boy with some apes about the size of The 2007Soft Tail Custom. About what size are those?

The 1 1/4" bars seem to push $100+ depending on sources. You can get lucky but I'd expect about that much.

Conversely you can find 1" bars for $30 on average.

Sometimes the 1 1/4" bars require riser changes. If cost is an option or you are content with the stock risers, consider getting 1" bars. Especially now that 1 14" are en vogue, you can find some great deals on standard 1" sets.

1 1/4 bars look much better, as far as i'm concerned 18 inch is the way to go.

I saw a good quote once "Apes are like fake ***** - no matter how big you go, you'll always wish you had bigger!" -- I have 16's w/a 2 inch riser, and constantly wish I'd gone 18.

12.5 For me. I'm 6.1" and that puts my hands up about as high as my shoulders....
I'm afraid that any higher could cause my hands to fall asleep and arms get tired on long rides, and the higher you go the steering is not as easy to control as well as stock Fatboy bars.

The one great thing about stock Fatboy bars is the steering control - it's great
