Default Dimensions of swingarm bag? And better mount? Better bag?

I'm looking for unobtrusive storage capacity on my Breakout, but want to make sure I have large enough bag dimensions to hold the kind of stuff I pick up when out running errands, etc. I'm not sure if the HD swing arm bag is large enough. Plus the standard mounting system seems a little chintzy and looks too like it would abrade the swing arm paint given enough time.

I realize the HD swing arm bag is sort of between a triangle and a rectangle in shape, but wonder if one of you who has one could tell me:

- Height of the bag at front?

- Height of the bag at rear?

- Thickness of the bag?

- Is there a better aftermarket mounting system?

- Is there a better aftermarket swing arm bag?

I'd like to be able to carry a lunch sandwich, a 16 oz water bottle, and 1 or 2 magazines.

I have used a leatherworks 5 inch wide bag for three years with great results. I travel with that and one other bag that sits on my headlight. I made a headcount for it based on input from other folks on here. Do a search since folks have done a write up on it already. Works great. Made in USA also. They have side extenders built into the design that substantially increases the capacity when needed. Also, I bought a waterproof compression sack at the hiking store that fits perfect in the bag when traveling. Keeps your stuff dry and when you stop, you just take it out and into your room. Ride safe.

Check out the bag Motown Stag uses and has on his left side rear fender strut. I have quick attach bags for my deluxe but boy do they ugly my bike up. I would use them on a trip though. If I needed something for around town that wouldn't fit in my chrome side mount tool box I would look into what Motown has and uses.

I found a photo showing Motown's setup, but that bag is right on the fender paint. I don't want anything near my "Hard Candy Chrome Flake" paint!

I also just found the Dead Creek rigid metal mount for the swing arm bag, but wonder how that looks when the bag is OFF the bike. Anyone goat photo showing that?

Thanks, Jam436. I examined my swing arm and belt guard, and see only 2 bolts accessible.
