Default Do I need new tires.

I need help ... I am looking at my tire thread and I cannot figure this out for my 200 mm wide rear tire. I have 8400 miles on it and not sure if there is still some life left or not. the center strip is a little worn. attaching the pic is that "HD" logo mean I need new tire. I called local MC shop here and they are willing to install front and rear Michellin Commander II's for $375 installed. is that good price for them?

Those tires are done, IMHO, Dude! Always take the guess work out of tires, when they go it is very unforgiving going down the road at 60, 70 MPH. I can't comment on that price because I have yet to buy a set and have them installed but my INDY said he can beat that price easy, off of the top of his head. By how much I didn't ask because mine still has a lot of life left on them so I told him we can look into that later on down the road. Good luck and ride safe.

I agree with Tony on this one..... That tire has had it. $375 Installed doesn't sound that unreasonable through.

I agree with the above replies. I made a mistake once and didn't change my tires when I should have. Nothing happened but it was close. MC'2 are what I have on my bike now and I feel that they are good tires. Even though some might run them for as long as possible and it wouldn't bother them, peace of mind is what is important and changing them now is better than having issues down the road someplace.

I get about 6k on my 200mm rear tire. You still can go another 1-2k if needed but if you need the front do it together now. Its about $300-325 for both tires so 375 installed is a bargain. The 200mm rear is expensive.

Default Love this forum.

I really really appreciate the quick responses. I called the local shop and placed my order. I could have got it for cheaper bikebandit $309 shipped and installed it with the shop however I rather have the local shop get my money than someone behind the monitor.

Thank you all.

Regards.

Never replaced one until the HD logo was gone....never had an issue.

I get 10,000 miles on my 200mm rear every time.
