New to the forum. Maybe my dealer has the simple explanation (I've never asked...) but this seems like it might be an interesting question. Here goes:
Most 2-tone FLSTN's have the dark or "body color" applied to the sides of the fenders and gas tank, with the white or "accent" color appearing on the top of those components. However, on my 2009 ( turquoise/antique white) the colors are reversed....white on the sides, green on top. Curiously, there's also a Franklin Mint model of the 2009 turquoise/white 2009 although I don't know what's so special about that particular bike to warrant it's own Franklin Mint model. The only other "reversed" 2-tone I can think of is the '07 Brandywine/white (kinda wish I had one of those, too....).
Any theories.....conspiracy or otherwise?
