Default engine swap question

The rocker has a 96, I have access to a basically new (9 miles) 103 from a road glide for what I think is an extremely low price. .. how difficult would the swap be, is it worth it?

Look at the specs from your 96 to the 103. I believe they aren't much from a stock perspective. I'd save the effort and get the 96 built a little.

What a minute..... Road Glide has an A motor. Rocker has a B motor with counterbalancer.

Don't compute. Don't do it

For a little over $600 you can change the cans and pistons 10:5:1 or 9:5:1 to a 103.
The stock 103 from Harley is going to have lower compression.
Unless it's cheaper than that I'm not sure I would bother.

The Cam wouldn't be anything spectacular either, probably about the same from the one webpage I read.

Plus the fact that it's two different types of motors...
I'd just upgrade your 96!

No way would I go from a (B) to an (A) motor in a softail

And No to you second ?? it would not be worth it..

Do a 103bb kit, some cams other than the SE 255's and you'll blow away the new stock 103 engine

my rebuilt 88 eats 103's all day long. I bet it cost less to do that then to buy that 103.
