Default Sundowner question

I just bought one on ebay.. it was so cheap I couldnt pass it up.. but it doesnt appear to come with the strap that wraps between the driver and pillion.. and only engages in the front and then a single screw in the rear..

So do I need to make something or will it be secure?

I have the same seat, I bought used also. It attaches like you said. Front tab and rear screw. Be aware that it is wider in the rear than the plastic strip that protects the top of fender. It will rub on the fender and mess with the paint/clear coat unless you add something wider then the plastic strip. Its a good 2up, long distance seat imo.

Yeah, that is all you need. HD sell little rubber pads to put on the rub spots. $6 gets you six pads.

Thanks guys.. I am hopefully this is the ticket for my back and 2 up for long trips.. Its either the $80 I spent on this with shipping or $400+ for a mustang setup... I could use the money elsewhere!

I have some rubber thingy's.. I'll use them, thanks.

I had gotten a sundowner after a year of riding stock. It was a great improvement but still wasn't the answer for me. I sent mine down to Mean City Cycles and had them redo all the foam in the seat. After that, it's been like a sitting on a cloud! Hopefully it works out for ya but if it's still not working for ya, look at having the foam redone.

I have a Sundowner that came on my bike when I bought it. It totally destroys the look of the bike, but if I'm doing more than 200-300 miles in a day or I'm riding with my girlfriend, I use it. The Bare Bones just isn't made for long days. The Sundowner at least offers support where the Bare Bones has none and I can move around in it to get comfortable if I need to.

I had one, traded it back in for the signature series seat. Was not enough back support, I need one with a backrest. I hate the signature seat worse, the most uncomfortable seat ever made. Sits in my closet collecting dust.

Let me know if you would like to buy my signature seat with back rest, I'd love to part with it.

I bought a Sundowner years ago, so my wife would be comfortable when she rode with me. It came with the strap in a separate plastic bag. I never used the strap.
I rarely used the Sundowner seat, because I mostly ride alone, so I sold it. It was more comfortable then the stock SE seat, but it looked kind of funny on the bike. I preferred the look with the SE seat.
