Default First ride

So as previously mentioned on another post I traded my older 06 heritage in on a 14 heritage classic. Long story short I purchased the old bike on March 6 and it spent more time at the dealer than in my garage so I never really got to ride it. It was my first bike ever.

Today I ticked off my first 100 miles on some back roads bear Comanche lake here in Cali. Tell ya what I am in love with the new ride and a bit intimidated by it still.

I read these rides scrape floorboards pretty easy and yes I scraped mine today. I didn't even think I was pushing it that hard. But it certainly scared me a bit. After that the following curves were taken below posted speed limits.

Well the odometer now has 116 miles on it. Next trip will be pretty close to the same but with pictures.

Now comes the work. Cleaning bugs off windshield and polishing paint lol. Anyone got some recommendations on treatment to make it so bugs don't stick as easy?

Congrats on the heritage and don't really know what will make the bugs come off easier

I don't know if this is your first bike or not but try leaning into the turn while trying to keep the bike a little more straight up. Allows you to give the bike more traction and you will gradually become faster/more confident in the turns. Hope that makes sense

McGuires Quik Detailer spray is what I use on my bike. It hasn't seen a water wash since I have owned it!

I try to clean the bugs off as soon as possible after a ride. The longer they're on the harder they are to get off. I also use one of the spray detailers and fog the bugs a good shot and give them a minute or so to soften. They come off much easier.
