for a Deuce while still looking good ? I know there is a compromise but have heard that Mustang seats are decent ? I have a Corbin and it's horrible and also have a Sundowner . The Sundowner is comfortable but looks like chit. What say yee?
I had a Sundowner on my wide glide and it did look chit! Replaced it with a HD Rallyrunner which looked a lot better and was still comfortable. Dunno about Mustangs.
Yee says my stock seat is the most comfortable. While it's good for me, my wife hated the passenger seat. She said it was like sitting on a 2x4. But we fixed that.
There is no such thing as a seat that is comfortable allll the time even on long rides.
The reason being that all of your weight is bearing down on one pressure point. *** Fatigue is inevitable...
In a car you lean back and your back transfers your torso weight to the seat in multiple areas. Same with your hamstrings.
Also, what one person think is comfy, you might think sucks. I think my seat that came with my ez200 kit is comfy because its shaped for *** cheeks, but other might disagree.
Mustang seats are good. Used one for almost 15,000 miles on my Sportster. I'm running a LePera Bare Bones seat on my Slim right now and it looks great and it more comfortable than the stock seat.
I have been riding a Deuce for about 7 years. The stock seat looks as good as any out there, especially since you already have one.
The bugger is your desire to have a comfortable seat that looks good. The stock seat is on mine now and then just for a change. I have a LePera Sorrento which is very comfortable with good foam and a good bit of lower back cradle. I don't think it looks good but many comment " nice looking seat". Recently I saw there is a Sorrento Sport which appears to be the same rider seat size/shape but with less bulky appearing passenger seat. That would have been my choice 7 years ago. You might check their website. Mine has held up well, my wife has a Daytona(?) LePera on her 1200C which looks good...very good, but is not as much seat as mine...not nearly as comfortable. she has had hers 6 years and looks/feels new.
Good luck finding your unicorn...sorry....good looking comfortable seat
There has been at least a half a dozen seat threads as of late and I say the same thing on all of them. Why doesn't anyone ever think of getting their stock seats reworked and made as comfortable as you want and as good looking as you want? There are so many options on comfort, I went with the gelfoam. There are so many materials out there, designs and colors. I had mine finished to match my bikes paint scheme. Go to an upholsterer shop and talk to the guys.
I have already had my stock seat reworked and it's not the greatest . Gel doesn't work here in AZ as it's too hot and just burns the chit out of you. I have a Corbin Gunfighter and while it's faded and cracked and the most uncomfortable seat I have it is also the best looking . Perhaps I should look I to having it redone for me .
