I have both the floorboards and pegs. I keep the pegs on around town and only put the floor boards on if the wife is going and we are going along way. It takes all of 10min to make the change. Here is a pic of the bike with the floorboards on and you can see the pegs in my sig pic.
My girlfriend hates the boards. Her feet are pretty much constricted to that one position. With pegs, she can at least pivot her ankles. With the boards, her ankles and calves cramp up on long rides. You might want to bring that up with your lady.
I have the same concerns regarding the passenger floorboard kits. I believethefloorboardslook better installed on a bigger bike, not a Fatboy.
I'm leaving foot pegs onbut am thinknig of adding the Kuryakyn retractable passenger pegs for Softail - #7925. But, these do come with a hefty price tag. I'm wondering if anyone out there have hadthese installed and whattheir passenger feels about them?
I installed the Kuryakyn Anti-Rotation adjustable passenger pegs today. If it quits raining, I will get some pics and some miles on these to get my bride's feedback. I got them to give her multiple positions (don't start..........) because her kneesbeginhurting if theyhave to stay in one place too long.
