Flip side of the coin is you can get a Rocky Patel Decade torpedo in the US for $4 and they are $24 in Canada . Hondurans are where it's at these days!

In Italy retail prices are nearly the double for parts. Example? Daymaker costs €505 euros which is about $680!!! Moreover dealer discounts are lower, max 10% off while in US you can find same parts with 20% off. VAT is 22% and custom fees are terrible even because you pay taxes also on shipping costs! An average custom tax would be in the range between 25/30% of the original price of the item. And please don't dare to say that's only a matter of country taxes. That's only a factor but the MoCo is killing us with these prices. That's the reason why they do not allow US dealers to sell abroad, it's so simple.
Glad to hear that here there are some Bros that could help us in buying some items if we should need to. We, "european bros", really appreciate your help!

Likewise. Here in Kuwait, our beloved and respected dealer charges us at least 65-70% over the tag price in the US. On top of this, we have to wait at least 2-3 weeks for parts delivery. For example, i got my 21" detachable windshield for around USD600. And this is in a tax-free country with very little customs fees (5%). Same story goes in other countries in the region (UAE, Qatar and so).

So it looks to me that it is more of a MoCo sales strategy rather than countries' taxes or customs.

Default MoCo sales strategy

"So it looks to me that it is more of a MoCo sales strategy rather than countries' taxes or customs"

exactly! Why cut silver with gold when people are lined up to buy silver.

We could get into a whole new can of worms over how SeaDoo (a Canadian company) screws the US in a similar manner.

sorry but the company you refer to is Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) with manufacturing facilities in the United States (Wisconsin, Illinois, North Carolina) and is 50% owned by Bain Capital which is an American alternative asset management and financial services company based in Boston.

You forgot gst & possible other clearance charges. I checked US prices vs My dealer & really the difference was minimum. You forget the dollar exchange has changed by 10 percent.

When shipping from States into Canada, if you can get the seller to ship USPS instead of UPS or FedEx, you will not have to pay brokerage fees. USPS can ship up to 70lbs.

Harley prices in Canada are high but less than Europe. The odd time I make a ride plan to the US and have the parts installed there. If you have part shipped you may have duty to pay and for sure HST.

No kidding.....a Daymaker for my Train here is €400....I got a brand new one off of the forum sent to an APO address for like $250. Kutters had them for $320 US. Even Harleys are ridiculous.....I saw a 2014 Trike for something like €39000 I think...
