Default 4 hr Cape Cod Ride

FWIW, A really nice and easy secondary road ride on the cape: after crossing the Sagamore bridge get on route 6A and just go east. A friend and I did about 40 miles out (to Dennis) and 40 miles back...took about 4 hours with a few stops along the way plus lunch. Virtually no traffic this time of year, but a little chilly given the proximity to the water.

Hope this helps someone......

I'm originally from the Cape. If you have time take 6A to the rotary in Orleans and follow Rt 6 all the way to P-Town. The stretch from Truro to P-town is the best part. You can take 3A off the Cape all the way to Quincy as well.

Sounds nice. Nothing wrong with a little chill in the air. The 103 loves it.

Definately, although I haven't ridden the bike that far out yet. 3A is good going north as well - through Plymouth, Duxbury and up to say Scituate - past there the traffic is heavier.

It is a good RIDE and even on the weekends in summer, much preceded to the other two high volume roads...off season is the way to do the cape, like you did. You get much better prices also on rooms. Ride safe.

I lived in Cohasset back in the 80's and early 90's. I rarely rode Rt 3 to the Cape. Even in the off season there's not a damn thing from Plymouth to the bridge. Riding on the Cape isn't very enjoyable in the summer especially on the mid Cape and on Rt 28. Anything past Hingham towards Boston is like riding in Thunderdome.
