Since we are on the subject, I would like to lower my fatboy maybe 2 inches in the rear. However I am concerned that it will:

1. Affect the comfort of the ride
2. Rub when riding 2 up

I am an atheletic 235lbs, so what do you guys think?

thinking of going with the HD Low Profile shocks or maybe the burnout cycles kit (cheaper).

You can also put the Reach Seat on it, that will lower the rider, and move her forward for easier reach of the controls. I had to do this for my wife, she is 5'2" The reach seat, and a set of Heritage bars did the trick perfectly.

At only 5 ft, she may have problems with reaching the bars, especially in turning..

If you want to go the Reach Seat route, I have one for sale...Its gently used ( 4 months) and available cheaper than the dealer..

Thanks for all your input. In reponse to EK5858, I'm not sure yet. Going to pick one up for the wife next week. She's only 5'. I have to see how she fits with riding boots on. I will avoid lowering it if possible though.

dont buy hd suspension anything go with progressive if you go front, and if you lower the rear you should lower the front it makes a huge difference. yur going to rub especially with florrboards. i wiegh 170 my wife weighs about a hundred my bike is lowered2infront and rear i scrape even by myself but i was scraping before i lowered it( pipes and Primartyand pegs with healrest) i would suggest at 235 that youll be fine yourself but i would go with a set of proggresive rear shock(whole kit) if you want to lower the rear i forget what name they are but you canfully adjust themand that will compinsatewhen you have a passenger

I think you should be fine. A Deluxe is basically a lowered Fat Boy.

At 24 inches why? BUT, go for it.

A friend of mine has an 02 fatboy (schoolbus yellow) with a two inch lowering kit front and back. The outside of both his left and right boot are worn shallow. He uses his boot to check for clearance during turns and it shows. I still see sparks when following or leading him through turns. If you are a one up rider you may get used to it quickly...I hope sooner than later.

IT LOOKS SWEET...but I have chosen not to lower after both watching him ride and driving his scoot as well. 2 cents given!
