Default Can you lower a new Deluxe?

OK, I'm getting conflicting info from dealers on this subject. I just put money down on an '07 Deluxe with the assumption, from talking to a different dealer, that it could be lowered. Now, after talking to the selling dealer, they tell me it can't be lowered in the rear, that its already slammed at the factory. Anyone out there that has lowered a new Deluxe? and what have you used? Thanks
Greg

BS you can still lower the rear and front the factory uses the HD lowering kit witch is only about an inch front and rear you could go ness and lower the rear anther 2 in and white bros and lower another inch in the front yoou might want to get a badlander seat or a low pro seat too that will really lower it but becareful 2in front and back lowering is all i would do and watch the floorboards on a deluxe

HDPearson is right, and I know for a fact you can. In this pic I can go about 1/2 inch lower. Any more than that and the frame scrapes in turns

The cheapest way to lower it is to buy a lowering kit cost 60 to 80 dollars depending where you buy it. the shocks have to be removed on most to do the lowering job. Arlen ness makes a kit as well as others. There is one kit from burnout cycles that you do not have to remove the shocks I know little about it but there are members on this form that have used it. If your going to ride two up I would not lower it more than sat an inch and a half or you may have problems with the ride.

Thanks for all your input. In reponse to EK5858, I'm not sure yet. Going to pick one up for the wife next week. She's only 5'. I have to see how she fits with riding boots on. I will avoid lowering it if possible though.
