Has anyone here ever put a pre 1999 front wheel requiring temkin bearings on a newer bike such as a 06 Deluxe. I am thinking about putting a ride wright 21 2.15 on my 06 deluxe. I will be getting the wheel from a friend at a great price, otherwise would just buy the correct one with sealed bearings for my bike. If so how much of a PITA was it? They both have 3/4 in axles so dont think that will be a problem. My other concerns are spacers and brake caliper/rotor. Any help is appreciated.

It CAN be done. But I dont think its going to be just a bolt right up kinda job. You may have a problem with the hub being a different size and causing a problem with the 2000 and up rotor vs '99 and older. Although there are adapters to allow using '99 wheels with 2000 and newer calipers.
If the guy is a good friend just yank your current wheel off and see if his will work.... buy him a frosty beverage or 12.

It will work rather well - I put '99 Fatboy wheels on my '07 Springer Classic last year. The rotor from the newer wheel does have a slightly larger hole in it but the bolt pattern is the same. The biggest problem is learning to set the bearing end play on the older wheels - this can be researched on the web. I suggest buying some 3/4 inch all-thread to use as an axle and a few 3/4 nuts to snug things up while measuring the movement. Once you do one then the rest is easy.
