I have a Barnett Scorpion Clutch that I installed on my 2009 FLSTSB for less than 1000 miles and then took it off. I thought the clutch was messed up, but instead the brand new HD clutch cable I put on at the same time was slowly failing. I found that out after I took the Scorpion clutch off and put the stock clutch back in. Also when I had it in, I originally had put Syn3 in it and then found out you're not supposed to use it so pulled the plates out, cleaned then and then reinstalled with B&M Trick Shift. I'm wanting to reinstall the clutch, but prior to doing that I have a couple questions:
1) How can I tell if the clutch plates are still good and not burned up or need to be replaced?
2) I was reading the other threads trying to find an answer to question #1 and come across some that were saying to remove the concave ring in the back of the clutch basket. Anyone have any experience with this?
Here are a couple pictures of the plates I have. Like I said, these have less than 1000 miles on them
