I'm 6'4" also and ride a '13 BO plenty on the highway at 60-75mph. Idon't have any aftermarket parts on the front of the bike and normally ride with a mesh jacket and full shoei but sometimes with only the helmet. I guess the point is that I don't get buffeting in any scenario while in clean air but you will get some with wash coming off of other vehicles in front of you. Not to be an *** but have you spent much time on other no fairing bikes? 60+ mph wind on your chest and head will takea little while to get used to but your neck and core will get strong enough to make it tolerable after a while. If you are not used to it 70+mph gets interesting for sure. I find leaning in a little helps a lot too.

You are right...this is my first naked bike. It does seem to get better feeling with time. I've got 1k miles on it now. Don't see how much more time I should give it. I guess I can give it another 1k miles. The only things I haven't tried that have been suggested in the past are "mini apes" handlebars or a taller windshield.

It will probably take a few months but I can tell you that for me there is a huge difference between 55mph and 65mph as far as how the pressure feels. Feeling like you're gonna sail or worse your rider not being comfortable is opposite of why I ride. Maybe find a way to get there at 55-60mph until you guys get more comfortable, and you will.

Being taller could contribute but another tall guy claimed a not as bad experience on his breakout.

Windshields on a breakout not too cool looking so you could try to just strengthen the levators of the neck. Lay on a table or bed face down with the head hanging over the edge, Put a small (4lb) ankle weight on the back of the head and lift head up and down in that position. Make the neck strong like bull, problem maybe fixed.

I have the Memphis shades bullet fairing, and I we wear full face helmets. We haul *** just fine. I think the problems is you a so tall. The bullet fairing is only about 300 bucks but not sure it would solve the problem.

Taller windshield. Could even find a taller shield from another manufacturer and adapt it to the HD quick release brackets.

This isn't a problem with a model of bike, it just comes with the territory of a bike without a larger obstruction deflecting air.

Pull the fairings off street glides and road kings and it would feel just like what you're experiencing.

The Memphis bullet eliminated the chest blast. I can put my hand up at any highway speed and right at the top of my helmet above the shield I can feel the redirected wind blast from the fairing. if the fairing was not shaped the way it is, with the curved lip atop the windshield id probably hate the damn thing. It would probably cause the old bobblehead syndrome. As far as the ride it is better 2 up, I plan on getting the shotgun shock to dial it in. That said its a lot of fun rides great all the way to 120. No bike does it all that's why we all need more than 1. Hope you get your ride straightened out for you both, it will be much more fun!
