Default Stock seat and pain in pelvis / hipjoint

I have a 2012 Fat Boy Lo. Not sure if its the height of the seat or what but I usually notice it after I sit at a red light. I get this uncomfortable dull pain almost like a cramp in my hip joints. I am 6'3 , 300 lbs. Anyone else ever get this and how would I go about remedying it.

Used to get it on my sportster a lot. Even with aftermarket seat. Have you tried some heritage style handlebars or larger apea? Maybe sitting position.

I get the same thing some times. I asked the Doc about it and said I am just getting old. But he suggested stretching before during and after a ride. It does help quit a bit. Another recommendation is to try out some of the Vtwin Goodies (formerly known as Harley Goodies) Floorboard extensions. http://www.vtwingoodies.com/

I have some pain in my hips usually the first couple weeks every yr.. Till I ride more...

So maybe you just need more time in the saddle..

Also might try some Advil.. pain reliever or equivalent .

I have arthritis in my right hip so I know where you're coming from! Two things have helped me tremendously. 1) As already mentioned, I do a few stretching exercises before I ride. This has helped not only my hips but my back, shoulders and neck flexibility. 2) I had MCC cut down the nose of my seat. Not sure of the proper name for that part, but it decreased the space between my legs/hips during riding. I also had them carve the butt channel in the foam, thinking it would be more comfortable on my butt on long rides. It did that but it also helped the stress on my hip.
