I have an '06 Night Train with a vertical license plate on the left side (lit with LED's). I want to get a swing arm bag in there (I want to keep a clean look on my Train), but to do so I need to find a way, or hardware to move the plate back. I like the side plate, so I want to try and keep it there while squeezing a swing arm bag in there.
I like the axle-mounted idea. I would just have to find a chrome one that's simple and has white LED's to illuminate the plate. I love the one I have now... if it was only made for an axle as well.

Hey, I also thought about using an axle mounted bracket.. but be aware.. some of them have a quite thick mounting hole.. which most likely requires a longer axle... here is an example:
by looking at the bolt side of the rear axle of my bike... its does not seem to have much additional thread left in the axle for a bracket of that type..

Thanks for that... something I hadn't thought about.
I really want a swing arm bag to keep my bike clean. I need the extra bit of storage, but really don't want to get full saddlebags.
