RIP Big Blue
Well good news is I lived through the accident, bad news is my bike didn't.
I made the mistake of riding in Austin to hit the ROT rally Saturday afternoon and some A--hole swerved into my lane then slammed his brakes on while he was less than 5 ft in front of me. He then took off, so hit and run. It all happened so fast, I had no escape route nor the room to stop in a controlled manor.
Sheriffs dept initially labeled it a misdemeanor than afterwards reclassified it as a felony "fail to stop" I could see his plate, just that it was a white paper temp tag. According to witnesses the guy had been throwing beer cans out the window cussing at motorcycles, my guess is he was drunk and had some road rage issues do to the heavy traffic from the rally. I ended up the a double fracture on my left knee, 2 broken ribs, broken clavicle on right shoulder, tore ligaments on right shoulder and arm and a melon sized hematoma along with other bumps and bruises. Doc said at least 3-4 months healing before being able to ride. Sucky thing is I had just finished putting on a lot of chrome, bars, true duals, shotgun shock etc, etc.....
I was released from the hospital yesterday, could have been much worse, I can always get another bike. Just makes me sick to think those people are out there. Sorry had to rant and figured you guys would understand. Riding that bike was the best stress reducer I had ever found.

I am so sorry to hear this. Your bike was a beauty from the pics posted. Still, as Ramboamt said, bikes can be replaced. You cannot. Seems you got pretty banged up, but it also seems that none of those injuries as bad as it could have been.
I wish you a speedy recovery!

Glad your alive. Bike can be replaced, you on the other hand, cannot.
It seems stuff like this is happening more and more. I hear stories like this quite often, either someone just pulls out in front of a biker or changing lanes without looking, cagers need to keep their damn eyes open for us.

Glad to hear you made it somewhat intact. Was at the ROT myself. 35 totally sucked, so camebakek up 281. Nicer hill country ride anyway. And yep, the Austin drivers weren't too polite, even with all the signs saying watch out for bikers. The we're all over us. A lot of WTF's!
Wow glad you're ok, 30 day tag that should be easy to trace when he goes for tags if they have a good description of the car, it will take some leg work but they can get him.

Sorry for your misfortune but glad you're going to be okay. It's too hot to ride in Texas this time of year any way. You will be right as rain and ready to get back on the road just in time for prime time fall riding weather! Plus you have a great excuse for getting out of yard work and honey do's! When life gives you lemons, trade'em for limes and get out the tequila!
Glad to hear you'll going to be ok. Beautiful bike. Perfect color! :-) Easily replaceable.
I managed to miss the a**holes outside the rally (there were more than enough in the rally, especially with those &%$#%* damn carts). Just a few idiots that failed to look, including a bicyclist suddenly exiting the sidewalk to cross the street. We both had an adrenaline shot on that one.
Best wishes on a speedy recovery.
