Default 86 Softail Fork Question

Hi All,

I bought myself a 86 fxst last august and have spent the winter repairing and taking care of everything the previous owner ignored.

I'm at the point where I'm changed out all the fluids except the front end. Here's the question, this front end is most definitely not the stock front end, the bike measures 8.5 feet long from back tire to front tire.

The forks have no cap on the top of the triple trees, and no markings or maker information.

Do I follow the service manual for the amount of oil or is there a way to measure the front end to get that information?
