Default Fat Boy & Deluxe Windshield Part Numbers

Hey All, My Lady just got an 2011 Deluxe, sweet ride.

Being a bagger guy I dont know nada about Deluxes. We're hunting for a windshield and the HD part system is giving me a headache.

Part number 58651-97a says it will fit 86 and later FB and 93-96 Deluxes w/ aux lights. Arent the front ends the same on these bikes. Will a part fitting 93-96 Deluxes fit a 2011.

Off for the aspirin

Thanks, we were doing the Ebay sales against the HD catalog. There was some deals on an obsolete part number, said it would fit the 96 and up Fat Boy and the 93=96 Deluxes. Arent they the same frontend?

The Deluxe light bar is different than the one for a Fat Boy/Heritage, and therefore the windshield brackets are a little wider. I believe it's the Nostalgic windshield that fits with the Deluxe light bar. Look up the Deluxe light bar in the PA catalog and it will tell you which ones fit, i think there are only 3 part numbers that will. I had to buy one of these because I installed a Deluxe light bar on my Fat Boy Lo. Take the light bar out of the equation and then it's just a regular FL front end. Hope this helps

No I believe they, or at least the Fat Boy, had the chrome nacelle housing from the factory back then. I may be wrong but a few EVO Fat boys I looked at all had a Nacelle housing.
The factory brackets on the deluxe are different but the stock Heritage windshield will fit. A co worker put on an OEM take off Heritage windshield on his 2010 Deluxe with no issues. He borrowed the one off my 2012 to make sure it fit before buying the take off unit. The main issues are with the nacelle headlight housing and the Harley aftermarket Aux. light kit "Custom Auxiliary Lighting Kit-68000051" it mounts differently.
That part number, 58651-97a has a wider opening for the nacelle headlight.
Here's a copy from the description I got from Surdyke.
"This one-piece polycarbonate windshield is designed with a larger diameter opening to wrap around the contour of the Chrome Headlamp Nacelle Kit P/N 67907-96B. 16 Light Smoke windshield Designed with a larger diameter opening to wrap around the contour of the Chrome Headlamp Nacelle Kit P/N 67907-96B Shaped to accept Original Equipment or accessory Auxiliary Lamp Kits

Fits: Fits 86-later FLSTC, FLSTF, FLSTFB, 06 FLST and 93-96 FLSTN models equipped with the Chrome Headlamp Nacelle Kit P/N 67907-96B. Fits with auxiliary lamps"

I had just done a ton of research on windshields since the POS wrecked me 2 weeks ago.
Trying to decide on a replacement myself.

The bike in question is a 2011 model. I went through this when I added a windshield to my 2011 Fat Boy Lo because I had previously installed the deluxe auxiliary light bar, which severely limited my windshield choices.

Seems to be some confusion here. 93-96 FLSTN's are not Deluxes. They are EVO motored Heritage Softail 'Nostalgas'. The Deluxe started production in 2005 and is still running. It is a twin cam. Both bikes have the FLSTN designation( and so the confusion), but are very different bikes.

The front ends look similar...not sure if they are compatible windshield wise.

Does your light bar look like this?

This is the Deluxe Auxiliary Lighting Kit P/N 68669-05A. I was told that this is the same light bar that is installed on the Deluxe from the factory, and when I bought mine we compared it to a Deluxe that was sitting in the showroom. We could see no differences.

http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...y-lighting-kit

Fits '00-later FLS, FLSTF and '06 FLST models. Compatible with Nostalgic Windshield Kit P/N 57140-05, 57181-05 and 57141-05 only. Will not fit with Chrome Headlamp Nacelle Kit P/N 67907-96B

I used windshield 57141-05 18" Light Smoke

I know for a fact that a lot of parts will fit where the motor company tells you they won't. This is my experience with this situation. Hope this helps with your situation.

Hmm, his light bar looked more like mine, but had bullet lights. He bought his Deluxe used, maybe it had been switched out? All I know is my windshield did fit. Looks like I was wrong after looking at your pics. That bracket is wider than mine.

There is a kit that lets you install bullet lights on a standard auxiliary light bar instead of the round ones.

You mentioned the "Custom Auxiliary Light Kit" in a previous post, that part was not available when I installed my kit and may open up more windshield options. I don't have any experience with that part. But once again, Harley will tell you that a part won't work on your bike or won't fit, when in fact it bolts right on.

To the best of my knowledge, the OP's Deluxe should have a light bar like the one in my pictures
