Default Night Train wheel on a Heritage?

I'm trying to help my uncle find a new rear wheel for his 2005 Heritage. I found a nice one that fits the description of what he is looking for but it is off of a '99 Night Train.... will this wheel fit on his '05 Heritage?

First you have to check the HD website and see if wheels listed to fit an 05' heritage are also listed to fit a 99' Night Train. This will tell you if it will be a direct bolt on. Secondly if it is not a direct bolt on you can get it to fit by measuring each side of the hub and comparing those measurements to the measurements of the stock wheel and ordering axle and/or pulley spacers to get it to fit. I fit an 08' rear wheel on my 06' this past winter and had to add a pulley spacer of 3/8" and new axle spacers. The hub on the 08' wheel was 3/8" longer on one side and 3/8" shorter on the other. You can get the spacers from Vulcan works.com Good Luck

The diameter of the pulley and rotor hole is smaller on 99 and down. 2" verses 2.25", so you would have to change out the pulley and rotor for 99 and earlier ones.

And the 99 wheel has 3/4" Timken bearings as opposed to 3/4 sealed bearings. You would need rotor adapters and a pulley adapter ring with that wheel. Look for 2000-2005 softail rear wheels. Those should all fit.
