Second question is did the original baffle slip out ok after being used for a while or was your pipes real new. Thx
There is a different mapping from V&H for standard baffles and quiet baffles with a Fuelpak. Looks like the bottom and top end of the adjustments are fairly similar with the biggest changes in the mid range numbers. As for sliding out.. mine were like a hot dog down a hallway cause everything was new with the BSS.
My big radius baffles needed a slide hammer to assist in removal as they were on the bike for a while. I tossed some anti seize on the baffles contact surfaces on reinstall. Not sure if it will work bit was worth a shot.

Interesting.. The tuning does seem to change that some what. The richer the adjustment, the harder the hammering. I never ran the pipes other then on its side stand with out the BCT baffles. Might pull them and take a ride to see if the effect is retaliated to them. I did cut about 2" out of the V&H quiet baffles in the center and 1 row out of the baffle tower to slide in behind the BCT QQ.
I've taken the heat shields off like 6 times now with no scratches... I feel like this is the one that has scrape age written all over it tonight. Haha

Cheers

I also have the BCT QQ backed with the standard baffles and Fuelpak in my Big Radius pipes. No hammering and sounded amazing. I changed things up because I wanted a bit more of a quiet ride and I'm sick of dragging the pipe in right hand turns.

Thanks that helps. I will soon have to do the 1000 mile checkup/in and will talk to them then. I know they will have to use the SERT because they said they can get some of the backfires out. Hopefully all of it.

The SAE standard for measuring sound levels recommends an engine speed of 2000 rpms on less than 3 cylinder engines.
I believe 5000 would be close to redline on a HD.

My neighbor had V&H big shots with sound baffles on a WideGlide, sounds much better than without and you might not PO as many people. Baffles usually tone down 2-3 dBs. It don't sound like much but makes a good difference and give you more back pressure (less popping on decel and better top end).

Another positive point of BSS is the Power Chamber which allows a good performace "similar" to 2into1 exhausts. Moreover you can mod somehow the look by swapping the end caps/tips. A few days ago I bought the straight end caps to have a more staggered look and if I get bored I can come back on stock slashdown tips in 2 minutes.

V&H website has cool videos showing their pipes on different bikes with their sounds. Kinda hard to tell and I dont recall having videos with the quiet baffles.

Opps, my mistake.. Meant to type 2500 rpm's.. That's usually highway six speed cruising....

Thanks for the input guys.. Will definitely check out the decibel measuring app for the iPhone.... If the authorities start cracking down , will invest in some quiet baffles .. But I love the sound the bike has now, but toning it down a few notches won't hurt either..
