Decibel reading
The SAE standard for measuring sound levels recommends an engine speed of 2000 rpms on less than 3 cylinder engines.
I believe 5000 would be close to redline on a HD.
My neighbor had V&H big shots with sound baffles on a WideGlide, sounds much better than without and you might not PO as many people. Baffles usually tone down 2-3 dBs. It don't sound like much but makes a good difference and give you more back pressure (less popping on decel and better top end).

So, BSS with BCT QQ and a shortened V&H Quiet baffle taken at 45 deg with the throttle just slightly opened (no rpm gauge). About 6' away. Right wrong or what not... I figured I wasn't going to be to technical with an IPhone app but this is the reading. 103db's
Sounds about right. V&H told me they figured 104 with the BSS and 105 - 107 with the Big Radius.

Hell no... Agreed. But I did get a base number from it and when I changed out the baffles today for some custom quiet ones I just finished making, there was a db drop and without a doubt, the test ride confirmed it.
