Oil consumption/dealer response?
I'm burning oil. Quite a bit in fact. As you might know there were some valve seal issues on some of the 05's. In Nov. I took my 05 SE Fatboy in for year end fluid change and pointed out that I'm burning a bit of oil. The service mgr. pointed out the valve seal issues. On completion the tech and mgr. said they could find no indications that I had a problem. Said I should keep an eye on it. Warranty was up in Feb. Lo and behold, after about 2000 miles I'm adding 1/2 a qt. I've decided I'll watch over the summer and keep receipts. I've got two bikes from this dealer and they've always treated me well. What should I be looking for? Plugs are good. No smoking. I just keep adding oil. Not that I mind but at 10.00 a qt. it's rather pricey. And I really want the bike to run well for a long, long time.
