Default High beam is out!

Been away for a while (been working like a madman). Hope everyone is doing good.

Anyway, my high beam is not working all of the sudden. The low beam works just fine though.

Could it be my bulb is somehow bad? Or am I looking at electrical issues ?

Try a new bulb first. About 8 bucks at an auto parts store, and it's not bad to have a spare around anyway.

^^^Yep^^^

Odds are it's the bulb & best to start w/cheapest solution 1st...then go from there, if not corrected. Good luck!

Like the guys above, I'd put my money on the bulb.

They usually last a long time, but you never know... mine went out within the first 3000 miles. Don't know how old the bike is, or whether it's under warranty. Since I wanted to check out a couple of other things there anyway, I went to the dealership to buy a new bulb - they replaced it (literally - they installed it) free under warranty. Saved me the effort and the few bucks... never even crossed my mind that a bulb was a warranty thing.

Thanks for the input fellers. Gonna check out the bulb first.

The bike is an 08 so the warranty is out the window. I don't know enough about bulbs to realize that a bulb's high beam function can crap out but the low beam can still work. I guess that's a possibility.

Two different filaments. When you pull out the old bulb, you'll notice three connections in the socket - neutral, and a hot each for low and high beam.

At least it is PROBABLY a really simple and cheap fix.
