Default Any consensus on the upkeep on Satin paint?

Whats the upkeep like on the satin finished bikes? Does dirt stick to it more or less? How do you protect it, just wax or paint sealant?

I use Wolfgang paint sealant now. Easy-on easy-off but expensive. Looking to get the Charcoal Satin paint but curious about how the satin holds up?

Thanks

It all depends on what kind of paint you go with. I have a rocker that came in the denim or "flat" black. Really low maintenance. Repainted it the same color recently and it's holding up just as well. It actually has what they call an eggshell clear coat which is really durable. Doesn't seem a lot different from any other paint as far as upkeep. Not sure about a wax. I know when I bought the paint they said not to buff any of it cause it would bring out too much of a shine. Then again I guess there's no point in waxing a bike that's not really supposed to shine. Anyways, hope this helps.

Cool. One of the guys mentioned it seemed looking dirty comes easy for the satin paint. Curious what others think. I like the black denim, like to get it on a 2015 Slim, but its not offered. So my next choice is the Charcoal in pics, but still have to see it. Thanks

Denim is pretty easy to keep clean really, just use windex and a microfiber towel. They state in the manual not to wax it, as it will give it a gloss finish though. My only complaint is not being able to "fix" any scratches that may happen like you can with a traditional gloss clear paintjob.

I like to wipe mine down with detail spray or Lemon pledge. I like the look of the satin finish it gives the paint. It seems to make the denim black pop just a tad more.

I've used wax and my porter cable da on my black denim paint and it never turned to gloss. It was slightly shiny but quickly faded back to the dull denim. So far I've given that paint a beating and it hasn't affected it at all. But usually just use griots garage quick detailer.
