FatBoy owners, Puttin on Apes, DIY?

For those like myself that do all their own work that ain't warranty, I'm puttin apes on the '14 FatBoy and discovered you CAN pull the tranny side cover to change clutch cables Without loosening the exhaust at all. A major time and PITA saver, just thought I'd share.

Depending on what exhaust you have will determine how easy it is to get to the Allen head bolts but yeah there's enough room to pull the cover.

The bottom two allens were the annoyance but I simply trimmed an extra allen wrench down to about 1/2 inch at the small end and it worked fine. I'll hang on to that one.

And if you roll the tires onto 2x4's or 2x6's and lean it on the jiffy stand you won't lose any oil when you take the tranny cover off either.

Yea I gotta say coming from a lot of touring models,and now workin on Softails, the bonehead that hid the tranny drain screw OFFCENTER between the shocks should hafta have one for a suppository. Luckily I have a wobble adapter for my wratchet that made it decent pullin that plug.
