Default Rush silp-on,s

Put a set of 3 inch Rush Slip-on,s no the bike last week . Now I think the Baffles are to quiet 1.75 . Thinking of going to 2.25 anyone do the same .
not looking to make it to loud but a little deeper rumble .

Thanks

I have the 1.75's which have gotten louder with time & are plenty loud enought for me. I have heard the 2's have a deeper tone, heard the 2.25's are a little too loud for some people. I listened to the sound clips on their website but I could'nt tell much difference.

I have run Rush slipons on several Harleys for years. What Streeteagle posted was accurate. Rush mufflers get louder after about 1200 miles. The 1.75 baffles are lower on DB's, but they have a higher pitch noise which gets annoying. The 2" are the best performers of all the baffle sizes. The 2" are louder on the DB's, but are more mellow then the others.

Pull the baffles out, cut about half the length out of them, weld them back together, re-wrap them and shove them back in. Worked on my Street Glide.

I started out with 1.75 like you did, but thought I'd try the 2.25 to see how loud they really are and since I'm a 68 year old who likes loud pipes I put them on and at first they did seem pretty loud but after a day or two I really liked them much better.

back in 07 when Rush was just getting a foot hold most people got the 2''er's as I did, but I also knew I was going to put in some cams..

then 3-4 yrs ago while talking to a Rush Tech one day he mentioned that they Recommended using the 1 3/4''ers VS the 2'''s on a stock 96''er to help get a little better lower end TQ..

I'd think the 2 1/4''ers would be deeper, but might and probably would even lose a little more (Low end) TQ... HOW much---???,, I only mention this for you to think about..

You're right I think it did loose a little low end so I put on some thunder torque inserts and they seemed to have really helped.
