Just purchased a 13 Slim and I was riding early morning and my gauge was lit up fine no problems, but as it got lighter out I noticed my gauge light dim/turn off. The owners manual says " backlighting may briefly fluctuate when ambient lighting changes."
So my question is, does our gauge auto dim and if so where is the sensor that registers light to either dim it or brighten it? Thanks for any and all help fellas
there is no wires in the wiring harness for that. it is completely built into the speedo head itself. if you look closely you'll probably be able to see a small photocell in the face of the speedo. in cars they are sometimes, redish black, a frosted opaque look or clear. I never looked for it, but it has to be there somewhere.
