When I started looking at Sportsters for her, I was kinda thinking the same thing. I was looking at old ones and thinking about turning one into a bobber. Just another dream though.
Welcome Live2Ride!!!
Congrats on the wedding plans.[:'(][sm=joke.gif]
You mention a Sportster for the wife. That new Nightster Sportster
is off the charts. Good luck on your wedding day and enjoy
the honeymoon.

Thanks for the welcome and comments! There's always something on list of things I want to do to it. It seems to never end. But that's what makes it so much fun! I don't think I'll have the chance to add anything in the near future, though. I'm getting married in a couple weeks and the plan is get a Sportster for her to ride. She's signed up take a Motorcycle Safety Course the end of next month, so in a couple months she should have her own ride. So with another clean slate, I'm sure the money will be going into her bike. The next thing I add will probably be a custom solo seat. Who knows when that will be, though.
We looked at the Nightsters and she liked them. The dealership even let me take it out for a spin. That thing was a blast. I wouldn't mind having one myself for a play bike. She thought, however, that it would be a little too much bike for her, so she was just wanting a 883 Low for a starter bike. She's very petite and has never ridden before, so that's probably a good choice for her. I wish I could steer her back to the Nightster though. That black and silver one just does it for me and it just so happens that's the one she liked also. Oh well. Maybe one day when she wants to step up from an 883....
Hawgfoot,
It always seems the BOTM votes turn into popularity contests now. I was reading what you and George C were talking about so I had to get my vote in. When I voted it pushed you to one vote in the lead. Unfortunately, I didn't read the rules first and I only had 4 posts before I voted, so I don't know if my vote will count. Sorry. Nontheless, though, you have an awesome looking bike.
who's running botm? can't he find the guysusing multiple user names (maybetrack their IP address, email adress?) and limit one voterper address?i guess they could sign up using different email adresses. nevermind.
Actually, I looked at my posts and I did have 5 before I voted. So my vote counted. That makes me happier. You would think there would be another way to limit people to only voting once, but I think you're right, Lobo, as long as they put a different email address, they can vote as many times as they want. It's sad because obviously those people have way too much time and too little integrity. BOTM was designed to give pride to those who put a lot of effort and money into customizing their bikes and some people want to ruin that because another person rides the same type of bike they do. It doesn't matter if it's the best looking bike or not. I think Hawgfoot has the nicest looking bike in the competition and it just happens that it's the same type bike I have. I guess the BOTM competitions will never be completely fair. But I think most people would vote just once.
The BOTM should be fun for all.
I can honsetly say that except for Shooter's chopper "Bloodlust" (which finished dead last in the BOTM I might add), there isn't one single bike on these forums I like better than mine and would trade for.
I would think everybody else feels the same.
Having said that, I sure wouldn't try to cheat so a simular ride could win..
Well put George
Like one of those guys mentioned. He would sign up under
different aliases and vote and vote and vote....
It's very simple to do and is very hard to detect for someone
who is a "lowlife" and wants to do so. For example. And trust
me I would never do so. But I could think of at least 15 to 20
computers that I could possibly sign in as a new member and
no one would be able to detect that I'm the same person. I believe those two guys should be banned from this forum
and zero tolorence for anybody mentioning cheating like they did...
All this to say that nothing is fullproof these days anymore.
It's too bad cause Grunt and Terry put all there time in putting
together a friendly contest for us to enjoy. And it only takes
one or two dikheads to sabotage it.....
Well i finally did it, bought some Progressive 422 shocks.....going to drop the bike an 1" or 2"....got them from a store called phat performance parts in Cali....384.00 with free shipping and free t shirt. Should see them around 4/18 andinstalledshortly after they arrive!!!!!
I also dropped the bike of at the dealer yesterday, 2500 mile service, changeing to Amsoil for everything and they will be installing the new diamondback control and brake cables.
I will post new pics after mods are complete.
Now, if mother nature will cooperate and give us some good weather instead of snow storms i would be really happy!!!!
