I'm looking for a sport touring bike for my long haul trips, I have it down between the ST and the Yamaha. Did you looking into other bikes before you bought the Honda? I will be keeping the Deuce for all the other riding.

Thanks for the congrats everyone I do appreciate it, and I do miss my Deuce, but I could not afford 2 bikes. The Deuce pretty much paid for the ST1300.

The ST getscomplimented, but the Deuce got drooled over by people, that I miss.

pro,
I really wanted the new Kawasaki Concourse butthe release date keeps getting pushed back. I narrowed it down to the Honda ST or Yamaha FJR. BMW to expensive, not worth it.

Honda ST is a bit heavier than the FJR, I liked the Honda for it's reliability, FJR gives you a little more bang for the buck though. ST fit me a little better. They areboth excellent Sport Tourers and you won't go wrong with either of them. Check them both out at your stealer and see which one feels best to you. I never owned a Yamaha, but have owned a couple of Hondas and like I said before there reliability is excellent. Oh and one more thing the ST comes with a 3 year warranty, FJR 1 year. For an extra $500.00 I extended it out to a full 7 years.

Good luck with your decision and let me know which one you choose.

Hey guys...

What all am I looking for if I wanna do a 200mm rear tire on my 06 Deuce? I would like to replace both front and rear wheels while I am at it. Probably go with a 21" wheel up front to continue using the front tire...I will try to get some pics later this week or early next week of the Kaw and HD, even though I am sure you guys are not fond of the 900 Custom

Thanks!

Go with an 18 x 5.5 in the rear and a 21 x 2.15 in the front. For the 200mm tire, you'll probably need to change the belt to the new 7/8' Harley uses. I myself put on an Avon Venom R 180/55R18(74w) which is 187mm and the Avon 90/90 in the front. I was able to keep my 1 1/8 belt with that rear tire. Hope this helps.

P.S. BTW, welcome aboard man.

Check out DMCustomes at http://www.dmcustoms.net/I used their kit to put a 200 on my 05 Deuce. No modifications required. They shipped with rotors, pulley and spacers all mounted. All I did was install. For some reason, I cannot get pictures to load. All I get is the red X.
