I've heard JB's story quite a few times .... Which is why I can really appreciate this forum. Saved me a ton of money skipping over the SE Slip-Ons and going straight to the V&H Fishtails.
I was actually a little nervous after I put the pipes on 'cause I was used to being so darn quiet. These pipes are, in my opinion, the perfect pipes for the Springer Classic. They sound great - Pretty loud when you pull back on the throttle if you need to be noticed.
The night I put them on I took the bike out for a spin and my neighbor (Dyna owner) laughed and yelled "Finally!!! Sounds like you're ridin' a HARLEY now!"
Ive always thought JB's classic is the best looking classic ive ever seen (minus the windshield). Glad to see ya skipping the SE slips and saving yourself some cash down the road.
You rattlin' the windows in the neighborhood with those short shots!!?!?!
That's one nice looking bike you've got there (94 FLSTN)
ONE VERY IMPORTANT INSTALLATION TIP: DONT OVERTIGHTEN THE HEAT SHIELDS!! I've seen a bunch of people do this (on ALL makes of pipes - yes even stock) and It'll cause a little indentation where the hose clamp fits into the bracket that's welded to the heat shield. Don't crank on it. Just give it enough torque to keep it there.
Thats a great tip. I guess most folks would think the pipe is shakin so super tight it should be, I would have thought the same if I hadn't been told better.
