211Chuck,
Maybe you should join us so it won't rain. The rain seems to never find you.
Being Marcia and I love to ride motorcycles in the RAIN in the mountains, if you could guarantee it would rain on you guys we would join you.
In fact Marcia and I would love nothing better then to trade you guys riding weather as we have not rode in any rain to speak of this year at all and I/we ride every day and every weekend all year round!
Based on discussion last night at Hooters, and pending Simcom's timing on dropping off WMDs at Grandma's, I think the tentative plan is to meet at the Spinx on Standing Springs at 9-ish on Saturday. If anyone needs to modify that, I think we're all pretty much flexible on anything except the day.
One of the guys here at work and his wife may come, they ride BMW 1200R's. Try not to give them too hard a time for not being Harley riders.
Sorry to have missed you guys, but the HP HOG chapter just put on a ride from High Point to Maggie Valley the last weekend of July. Ride up was excellent, we had a cook out at the Creekside lodge Friday night, and Saturday, we all met at the WTT museum for a tour, (Dale was not there at the time because he was in Ohio), we all split up to ride various rides or side activities, (Some went to ride the Dragon, some went to Cherokee, and I took the Mrs, and the kids to Ghost Town in the Sky.) Then we all met back at WTT for another cookout. Dale did show up for the cookout. (He said that the Ohio swap meet was a wash out.) We rode back on Sunday after going back to WTT for another visit with Dale showing us around this time. (I got a great pic of my daughter on the wedding bike!) On the ride back, the weather held out until we were half way down Black Mountain. It rained on us off and on until we reached Winston Salem, and from there on, it was clear riding. All in all, a GOOD trip. The High Point HOG Chapter puts on the Wheels to the Valley ride every year on the last weekend of July. Make plans now to come with us next year!
I looked all through the thread again, and if I didn't miss something, it looks like it's just the Greenville area group goin' this weekend. Am I right? Where's Blade and Dynamite? They seem to be MIA on here lately. As of right now, it looks like it's gonna be me, Mrs Live2Ride, Simcom, kerberos, Critter, and probably my dad, and my sister if she doesn't have to work. It'd be nice if Blade and Dynamite would come outta hiding and join us. The Museum is open from 9am to 5pm. Kerberos' idea of meeting up at 9:00 sounds good to me. I'd also like to take the 276 to 19 route. That looks like it'd be a pretty fun ride. Those of us in Simpsonville can all meet up at the Spinx station on Standings Springs. My dad and sister (if she comes) coming from Greer can meet at the Spinx also. I'm not sure where the best place to meet Critter is. Critter, any suggestions? Same with Dynamite. Dynamite, if you're joining us, where's the best meeting spot? If anyone has anything they'd like to add or change, chime in. If not, we can go with this as a tentative plan.
