We have a couple of new riders in our group. Tends to slow the pace a little. We also seem to take too long on stretch breaks. Most of us have just met also and the group is ....blah blah blah....WE are just slow.

Doesn't matter to me... I have a blast when we get together! I don't care how fast I go, as long as I'm riding.
I agree with that. Also, you don't want anybody riding over their head just keep up with the group. Best to be slow and safe.
Absolutely 100% correct, that is how it should be done in group rides (slow and safe) which is why I prefer riding alone or with one or two riders.
With larger groups on long rides you must start at around 5:30 AM and plan forbeing home at10 PM which means people have to get up early and I've found most people that own Harley's can not get up on weekends, there for rides must be kept very short!
Each to their own, but I prefer riding and sight seeing over sleeping in and hanging out!
Just in case anyone want to know about it, I just got an e-mail from Dale Walser, the Curator of the Wheels Through Time Museum... It follows below:
As new objectives and greater potential lie on the horizon, Wheels Through
Time will be relocating out of North Carolina by the beginning of 2009.
Much consideration has been given to the museum's loyal patrons and its
economic impact in Western North Carolina in this matter, however, this
relocation is necessary in order for the museum to further fulfill its
mission to educate and inspire a diverse audience as to the history of
American Transporation for generations to come.
Our last day of operation in North Carolina will be August 1, 2008 and as of
May 1, we will be open weekends only, Friday-Sunday, 9a.m.-5p.m., in
preparation for the move.
We look forward to seeing you in June.

From what I read bewteen the lines, the town council of Maggie Valley put pressure on Dale, and rather than give into to them, he opted to leave. Now, there's not much in Maggie Valley NC as far as something to attract both people and their money.
