I hope to make it to the museum next time. Next time we need to just head straight there. No stoppin' for lunch.

When we stopped the last time, we hadn't even made it to 19 yet. The trip had already taken 6 to 6-1/2 hours and it was after 3:00. The museum closes at 5:00 so we decided to head back. We rode back straight through and made it in much better time. I think from now on when we do these longer rides, Mrs Live2Ride is just gonna hop on the back of my bike. She wants to get in some more practice time to get more comfortable on her bike before she tackles another longer ride with a group. I picked up a backrest yesterday, but I have to take it back to the dealer and ask them why the mounting hardware doesn't line up with the holes in my fender (the Deuce backrest mounts under the seat instead of on the fender struts). So on the longer rides, I'll put my more comfortable stock seat back on and the backrest and she'll ride with me. I'll show her how fun the twisties can be!
I'm telling you, I had a ball coming back down with those guys!! I think they were all a little shocked that someone on a HD kept pace with them.
As far as the Maggie Valley area goes, there's really no fast way to get there, unless you get on the slab. Maybe one weekend we can plan an over-nighter or something. Then we don't have to rush to get up there and back. Some of these little towns we've been to, we never seem to be able to get out and see what going on. It's usually stop, fill-up on gas, eat and head back home. I think we need to plan another trip up to Lake Lure and the area around Chimney Rock.

I'm up for heading backto the Chimney Rock area and gettin' off to walk around the shops and stuff. It's a nice ride there, and a nice place to stop. I don't think I'd want to pay to actually go to the park, though. That's a little pricey.

Made it home safe and sound and soggy. Dropped Mrs. Simcom at her cage to bring the litlle Simcoms home and hit the SS and locked the cruise on 70. Man, does that bike stick at higher speeds. Y'all should have went with us. We found Lummus HD about 5 miles from where we split up. It was a pretty nice place, but they had little to no Tshirts. I had a ball today. I don't really care about going somewhere to do other stuff....I would just as soon ride the bike.....Oh we stopped by the campground Chuck is always at. Met the owner Phil. Really nice guy. He said Chuck was at the dealership and was gonna come back with a new bike or blood on his clothes. His Ultra broke and it seems they have been giving him grief about the warranty.

Sorry about the rain, that would be my fault because I
picked up the new Ultra Saturday morning and it has
to rain on a new motorcycle. That is the law of the
motorcycle gods LOL"

They took good care of us, they did darn near a straight
across trade for our 30,000 mile 10 month old blown up
Ultra to a brand new Ultra! So technically Marcia bought
me a new Ultra two years in a row for myBirthday

You just can't beat having a wife that will buy you a
new Ultra or two for your Birthday and then ride on
it for 30,000 miles in 10 months with you, I'm just
going to have to keep her around for a while I guess!

I'm glad to hear you likedthe Blue Ridge Motorcycle
camp ground, Phil and Leslie are great people, you
should try staying there some weekend with us..
Once again, I'm sorry about the rain but Marcia and I
really enjoyed riding in the rain Saturday and Sunday
on the new Ultra. Thats the first time we've got to ride
in rain this year...

What the heck is wrong here??

You guys can't do Wheels Through Time in one day
spending half the day there and be home for dinner?
You live alot closer then we do buy about an hour
and we can leave Saturday morning go to Maggie
Valley for breakfast and be home by 2PM which
is about 4 to 500 miles round trip depending on
which way we go!
Whats the problem??
