A Greer woman who died in a motorcycle wreck on State 14 was identified Sunday as Karla F. Hensley, said Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill.
Hensley, 44, died at Greenville Memorial Hospital at 6:45 p.m. Saturday after her motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe that was pulling out of a grocery store parking lot near Pelham Road, he said.
Fatalities in motorcycle wrecks this year are outpacing those from 2006, according to Lance Cpl. Scot Edgeworth of the state Highway Patrol.
As of Nov. 15, there had been 109 fatalities statewide, compared with 95 for the same period in 2006, he said.
Hensley, a Lockheed Martin employee, had been involved in a Toys for Tots drive earlier in the day, Dill said. The collision occurred as she headed home after the drive, he said. Hensley was wearing a helmet, Dill said.
