I'm stationed at Homestead, so let me tell you one of the best places to relax in Key Largo. Once you pass Florida city, you'll hit the infamous stretch of swamp (NOTE: this isa very deadly stretch of road-don't be stupid-don't pass in a "no-passsing zone."). About 20 minutes later (depending on traffic), you'll hit Key Largo. Keep a lookout on your right-hand side. The buildings are hidden, but there is a sign. You should see a sign saying "Sundowners" or "CJ's Bar and Grill." This stop consists of a mexican restaurant, a seafood restaurant, and my favorite, CJ's. It's a nice, quaint (mispell?) bar with a laid-backlocal crowd. The bartenders are all born and raised around the area, so they can give you some good info for your trip. The beer is cheap, and the wings are awesome. I try to stop in there once a month; well worth it.

Mile Marker: 104 (Gulf side)
FYI Gulf sides are always even numbers
Ocean sides are always odd numbers

2 Small bars not to miss just before getting on the stretch is Sams hide away (featured in 07 HD catalog)and last chance saloon. Both are biker friendly and the last places you are going to find a beer for under 4.00! I live in Homestead BTW, right down the street from both places. You cant go wrong. And like some others were saying,, be very careful on the stretch and/or card sound road. Both are very dangerous pieces of high way!!
