I have two different rooms available for Biketoberfest 12th to the 19th if anyone is interested. These rooms are at the Daytone Beach Regency. This is a resort style place with extra pull out beds, full kitchens, indoor and outdoor pools plus gym and game room with pool tables. I have stayed here a couple times and have always found the staff very friendly.

One bedroom is only $900.00 for a week stay.

Two bedroom is only $1400.00 for the week.

Again keep in mind they both have extra room for others with the pullout beds.

You may email me at RobandElisa@cs.com if anyone is interested.

We rode to Daytona Bike Week in '06 and had a ball. The best thing about going was getting the heck out of the sub- freezing temperature in Tennessee. We stayed in St. Augustine and went to Daytona for three days, during the day only, as my wife didn't want to ride back at night. For two days we stayed in St. Augustine and toured the city. St. Augustine had a large section of prime parking spaces reserved for bike parking downtown. As for hotel prices, Cherokee jacks up their rates for the Cherokee Survivors Rally. Sevierville and Pigeon Forge always increase hotel rates as soon as tourist season starts. We went to a Knoxville Ice Bears game a few weeks ago and paid $5.00 for a beer. We felt a sense of accomplishment when we returned on that Sunday two years ago from Bike Week. Our Harleys had taken us down and back and we had enjoyed every minute. We made a memory and will go back again. Yes, I know money is important and somebody said he paid $4.00 for a beer on Main Street. But the fact that he was on Main Street in Daytona makes the cost worth it. It was way cool to sit at Boot Hill and enjoy a few cold ones. It cost some bucks but the experience was priceless.

Daytona is what it is, it sure aint' no Disney, and I don't think anyone on this forum tried to make it sound so. Laconia, Stugis are the same way, vendors out to make money. There were some great rides, with some great people from all over the country

Rode from Charlotte to Daytona and back on the new Fatboy. Hadn't been to Daytona in 26 years. Back in '82 I had a Kaw 650 (I feel like I'm at AA confession) Yes it was a ricer. Back in the late 70's and early 80's it was more about the Superbike races and there were more ricers than Harley's or choppers. Watched Kenny Rogers race. The place everyone calls "the cabbage patch" was only a little bar called Sopotnicks. It was all there was for miles, and definitely a watch your back kinda place. Ormond Beach had nothing.

I stayed at a buddies place two blocks from Smiley's, Tattoo Tavern and Iron Horse. Rode there walked(crawled) home. The weather sucked Fri/Sat. Where were all the ****? and ***?

As for "They don't want bikers there". That is not true. It is a common comment by locals that the bikers are the best group that come to Daytona. Nascar, don't spend as much money and tip bad, Spring Breakers don't spend as much money and don't tip. Plus young obnoxious drunks. Bikers spend the most and are considered the friendliest. What a bad image.

Later
