I'm not sure of the dates, but I was thinking about heading over there if it works out. I have not been to a state HOG rally yet. Info.....Is it best to plan for all weekend or just hit for a day?
I'm not sure about the length of stay, but having a plan for spending the night is probably a good idea! I'm from northern VA and still ride there frequently, but I currently live in western MD. It seems like the HOG Rallies in the area are scheduled for when I work. VA's is the easiest for me to make, thats why I was inquiring if it is worth the effort. I still have to take a day off!!!
Thanks for the reply! I have never been to any rally and thought this would be good as it is close and I am off on those dates. Was it worth going?
Sorry, been out to lunch lately...Anywho; we enjoyed ourselves. Make sure you go over to Bedford and visit the D-Day Memorial. It's a very moving sight. We also rode up to The Peaks of Otter on the Blueridge Parkway. Nice riding area. This year, we may stop by for one day on our way to Key West.
Didn't go to the HOG rally but have been to the VA Beach Bike Classic the past 2 years and will hit it again this year. First weekend in May, only bikers allowed in the campground, Kicks ***. I believe that's the weekend before Myrtle Beach. Check 'em out at vabeachbikeclassic.com
No problem, thanks for the follow up! Yeah I have heard that the riding on the BRP is very nice and look forward to hitting that with some friends this year. I have mainly ridden in northern and central VA, but will be going to Lynchburg,Appomattox, etc. this summer. I was trying to incorporate some of the rally into that trip. Thanks agin for the info.
Pyro, thanks for that info. on the VA Beach event!
I went last year (down from NOVA)...Spent two nights and had a blast -- lots of nice riding areas out along and on the Blue Ridge Parkway - -in fact got reservations again for two nights again for 06!--
