We're still struggling to get power and trees cleaned. The entire area is a complete mess. We got our power back Friday and my grandparents are without power until middle of next week. My wife's friend has said they'll be without another 4 weeks. Has anyone else been affected by these storms??
Yeah, ice storms suck, big time. The electric companies need to keep ahead of the tree trimming. Wires will still come down but they should keep the main feed clear of trees. Too much ice is not a good thing.
Oh, yeah. Power went out about 0630 on Wednesday morning and was restored about 2103 Saturday night. Between filling kerosene heaters, dipping water from a bucket out of the cistern, and breaking ice from stock tanks, we stayed pretty busy and warm. But we helped the neighbors and the neighbors helped us, and that's always the way it goes around here. I do have to admit that for the first time I was thankful to have a cell phone.
We didn't get much here but west and north of us are a mess. People need to come together when this stuff happens. If you need help let me know. I'm laid off till Feb 16th.

Our cell towers were knocked out in the storm. We finally got service back unwaivering yesterday. I made a run down 24 to TN yesterday and there are still many areas through Trigg and Lyon that are without cell service. We are back in power now but most of my friends and their families are still without. We've been running gas and generators around the area keeping them running on 10 or so gallons of fuel every night per family.
You guy's and many more have had a hard time for sure. Longest we been out was several years ago for 3 days and hated that. built a new and last house 2 years ago and put in a propane gen . Hope i never need it. Thaws out soon i hope and everone makes it well. Move up here from hurricane country so been with out before for a long time just hot not cold .
still w/o power, got a generator powering the house, kenergy said today could be up to 2 more weeks before we get power. think the power company should stay on top of the trees also, but no one expected the ice to be this bad.
We missed this one, as it all went south. I all have had a bad hard time, will be glad when it is over for everyone. Took a drive to family in the area and it was strange driving for miles and no lights, and the downed trees looks like bombs have went off in some areas.

You all need anything down there? We're pretty much back to normal and might be able to help if you're in a tight spot.
