I hope to leave out by July 11 for the BMWMOA National rally in Redmond Oregon. Ihave 2 1/2 weeks and after the rally I'm riding through central California. Then make a left turn into Arizona to head back east. All I have to do is get through our plant summer shutdown, get the utilities perculating and then I'm off.
I work around the corner from you at the Michelin Earthmover Tire Plant. I grew up around the other corner from you in Red Bank off Nazareth Church Rd.. My mother still lives there. I burned up the paved and unpaved roads around there in the early ''70's before I got my drivers liscense on my Bultaco Pursang. It used to be pretty rural around there back then. I remember riding Muddy Springs Road when it actually was, before it was paved.
Gus

I'd like to get to gether for a meet/ greet too. It's been kicked around on this thread since last winter. I have offered to set a time and place a few times with no luck. I'm working the shutdown at US7 right now. We are scheluled to be back on line on the 9th. I will be gone on vacation until the 29th after I make sure we are up and running good on the Utilities. So lets plan on something for August. Since you live in Augusta we could meet there or Aiken. Talk it over with the other Guys on your crew.

Got back from out west. It was a good trip. About 6600 miles in 15 days. 16 states counting SC. I saw snow on the ground and mid 40's and 107 degrees sometimes in the same day.
I have been riding the past few weekends. Sunday My Son and I rode the backroads to Santee and ate at Lone Star. We made it back home before the heavy rain. Weekend before I rode to Summerville. It never rained even though it was a 40% chance. I stopped in at ATP Gunshop and Range. They are a little high but they have everything including the latest guns that nobody else has. You can rent machine guns there. I got my out of state Utah CWP through them by taking the class at ATP.
I dropped by American Biker on Treeland Dr. off College Park exit. They are Triumph, Big Dog, and Sucker Punch Sally dealers. They also have a lot of used Harleys, customs, scooters, and antique bikes for sale. They have a big selection of helmets, boots, t shirts, and riding gear too. They are having a Halloween bash there on Oct. 29,30,&31. The usual beer, BBQ, bikini bike wash, car and bike show, live music, and the Triumph Demo truck will be there. I have gotten a dozen free Triumph t shirts from riding triumph Demos. About 3 months after the ride they send a voucher for any t shirt a dealer has in stock. Like HD some are pricey.
I saw on the Intranet at work Michelin is sponsoring a Bike and boat poker run around Lake Murray in Sept. Best hand is a new set of tires. I'm not a big fan of poker runs. Years ago they used to be rides on scenic back roads and now they seem to be DUI parades between across town bars. At least this one should be routed on some good backroads.
