Default 125 Loop Near Baton Rouge, LA

Just did this 125 mile loop near Baton Rouge. It was a pretty good ride...curvy roads, with only a few sections that had poor road surface. I would recommend not doing the section on 420 though. The road was VERY rough. Just go straight down 1 like the map says and don't detour onto 420. It runs you by the river, which would be cool, but the road surface SUCKS. Plus, you'll ride the river on 415 plenty.

I've ridden 77 from Livonia to Plaquemine before, but never north of 190 through Fordoche and on to Morganza. 77 south of Livonia is a great ride, one of my favorites locally. LA 76 from Maringouin south to Ramah at I10 is a great ride too. I will have to try that route through Morganza soon since the new Mississippi River bridge to St. Francisville is now open. Another route I like in that area is riding around False River.

I actually thought the part north of Livonia on 77 was even better than the Plaquemine-->Livonia section. The best part, by FAR, was in New Roads when you hit 413/414/415...especially the 415 section all the way down to 190. It's overall a GREAT loop. 125 miles is the perfect distance for an afternoon.

Well, thanks for the tips, I will definitely try that route soon. I'm always looking for good roads to ride locally.
